Why Do They Stay?

One of the main questions that often arises in the discussion of domestic violence issues is why do women remain in abusive relationships to begin with? A lot of people can’t understand why someone would willingly stay in a situation which brings them constant danger and pain and often partially place the blame on victims for not speaking out or leaving.

Condoleezza Rice Speaks Out Against Domestic Violence

Condoleezza Rice was a co-host of the State Department’s Senior Roundtable for Women’s Justice held March 18,2008, in an effort to call attention to violence against women and help them seek justice.

The roundtable was a public-private partnership between the State Department and corporations such as Avon, which has made money available to help women around the world empower themselves and seek justice. (www.cnn.com)
